Out of Hibernation

Welcome to my Lounge.

Here sits my AVL compu dobby loom which has been in hibernation for the winter. Today is the day for a fresh warp at last. Off comes the sad black merino warp, left-over from last year's scarf weaving run.
I plan a series of keyhole boa scarves in a delicious bunch of tussah silk, soy silk, chenille, polyamide, Italian ostrich novelty (polyester), and sari spun fibre, all in juicy plums, purples, blue-pinks, creams, with a touch of gold.
These miniature boas will be 90" long and although floaty and very floppy will have a strong core of soy silk. Width on the loom is only 5".
Photos of yarns to be used will follow shortly. In the meantime photo of my work above woven with possum/merino warp and hand-dyed kid mohair and a few shots of silk in the weft. Very light, warm and soft.

This blog is to get me motivated!
