Spring blooms and blossoms in my garden. The magnolia tree is in full bloom.Bird in the branches is from France - a Pylones paper clip magnet! Sings like a song bird when touched.
One of my miniature boas/scarves has been woven. I was very pleased with it. Straight off the loom it spiraled beautifully - a surprise! This effect disappeared once carefully washed, line dried, and the silk ironed. A wonderful sheen and softened considerably to a silky finish. A good friend then arrived, saw it - must have it! So it's gone with Sue for her trip to Oz, before a chance of a photo even.
Family visits and illness, plus a new day job in the local bookstore have kept me from sitting on the loom seat. However, the next nine days are all set to be weaving days, so new photos soon of the miniature silk boas.

Very Lucky......
New Zealand looks like a lovely place to live! I am an amateur weaver, just a small loom and making coasters and place mats with my daughter for now as gifts. Looking forward to taking some classes soon. In March I plan to take a class on stain-glass. Want to try to make a caliedescope (sp) and maybe some faux windows to hand in front of my kitchen window. Guess it is fall there now? We are going into spring, not soon enough. Teri AKA Tumbleweed
Tumbleweed - Welcome! We are still in hot summer, wishing for coolness. Still no progress in the weaving here, three part=time jobs taking my energy. Poor loom looks sad with a silk warp doing nothing! Hope you enjoy your leadlighting. Something I would love to do too.
Best wishes, Helen
